Over 6100 towns and municipalities were involved in the competition organised by Eko-kom, which organises the collection and recycling of packaging waste in the Czech Republic. 66 cities and municipalities were shortlisted through regional rounds. Mníšek pod Brdy also won the main prize in the category of towns with over 5,000 inhabitants.
Compared to 2021, the amount of packaging waste decreased by more than 20,000 tonnes, i.e. by 1.5 %. In total, 1.312 million tonnes of packaging waste was placed on the Czech market. 81 % of it was recycled and recovered. The majority of packaging, 71, was recycled. The remaining ten percent was used for energy recovery.
We are pleased that we could also contribute by sorting packaging waste at WAMAG. In addition, we are contributing to better waste management.
Our magnetic separators can solve sorting and recovery metals for example, from "yellow bins" on sorting lines or for paper recycling.
