Overband magnetic separators can be installed, for instance, above a belt conveyor. Unlike magnetic blocks, overband separators remove "captured" ferrous objects continually. The magnets are thus being continuously cleaned, making them ideal for removing iron particles in large volumes. They are also employed wherever there is a risk of iron becoming jammed between the magnet and the transport route.

We produce both electric and permanent overband separators. Which type is best suited for your application depends primarily on the installation height and orientation towards the transport route. If the installation height of the magnet is higher, we recommend using an electromagnet. Permanent magnets (without power supply) are better suited for lower heights, which is why this type is commonly seen on mobile line applications.
